Shipping rates from rules
you can see and test
Build rates by zone, weight, product tag, collection and cart contents. Simulate a cart before checkout. Hide or rename titles with a Delivery Customization Function. Needs carrier-calculated shipping on the store plan.
Four steps
Install, confirm the store plan, write a rule, test a cart. Rules stay drafts until you turn them on.
Confirm the store plan
Carrier-calculated rates are a platform feature on Grow and above, not Basic or Starter. Development stores include it. Turn the setting on under Shipping and delivery. The app detects the plan and explains it.
Build a visual rule
Add condition cards for destination, weight, cart total, tags, collections or contents. Attach the rates to return: flat, per item, per kg, percent, or base plus per kg.
Test a cart
The simulator uses the same engine as the checkout callback. See which rule matched, the cents quoted, and whether fallback ran — in well under a second.
Turn a rule on
Drafts do not run at checkout. Save and turn on, then keep a fallback rate for carts that match nothing.
What shoppers see
At checkout they see the rate names you configured (or renamed). Prices come from the Carrier Service callback. If you hide a title, it does not appear. Nothing from this app is drawn on the storefront outside checkout.
Good to know
- Store plan. Carrier-calculated shipping is not available on Basic or Starter. The app shows this clearly and links to the platform help article.
- Callback time. Checkout expects a fast answer. Rules are cached in the database; the callback does not call the Admin API.
- Addresses. The rate request includes a destination. It is used in memory to match the zone and is not stored.
What you get

Questions
Do I need a higher store plan?
Yes for live checkout rates. Carrier-calculated shipping is on Grow, Advanced and Plus, and on development stores. Basic and Starter cannot register a carrier service. The app detects this and explains it.
How fast is the callback?
Rules are cached. The engine is a pure function. Automated tests quote 50 rules and 20 items in well under a second.
Does the app store customer addresses?
No. The destination on the rate request is used in memory and discarded. Privacy webhooks are registered.
What is hide and rename?
A Delivery Customization Function that can hide a checkout rate by title, or rename it. It does not change the price. Growth and Pro plans.
Can I change plan without reinstalling?
Yes. Open billing, pick another plan, and approve the new charge.
What happens when I cancel?
The carrier service is removed, so checkout stops calling the app. Rules stay saved until uninstall, then shop/redact deletes them.
